Consulate Appointment Confirmed

We received word today that our Consulate Appointment is confirmed! I have now purchased our airline tickets. We leave February 12th at 12:15 pm on our non-stop flight to Beijing!!!!!!!! I'd like it if everyone started praying now for a safe and uneventful flight-I HATE to fly!! I do have to say that even with all the delays and aggravation the timing of our trip could not have worked out better. For that I am so very grateful. And just think.....Brian and I will be spending Valentine's Day, alone, on the Great Wall of China. How cool is that??? I won't have my complete itinerary for a few days, but we should have Owen in our arms by 2/16.....that is even cooler!

Hi~I went to junior high with your cousin, Christine Petrilla. We recently reconnected on Facebook and she told me about you and your blog.

Congratulations on being so close to bringing home Wen and this latest milestone.

We brought home our daughter, Lindy, in April 2006. She will be four in May and is a true joy and blessing. We have been logged in for nearly 15 months for another daughter but have decided to pursue adoption in Taiwan, instead.

I look forward to following your journey. Best wishes as you make your final preparations.

Congrats on the travel news. I'm from the lyg yahoo group and don't have much blog time. Our son was 13 mos @ family day last March. I wanted to let you know I will be praying for you and your family and look forward to seeing the Nanjing pictures with your new son. We had our long awaited family day last March. Nanjing was cold in Feb/March. Guangzho (sp) was very muggy and warm!
Silks are cheaper in Guangzho, but Walmart (yes China Walmart) is a taxi ride for a few bucks for some cool stuff like CNY red $ envelopes, coloring books, and the like. Pretty cool place too, right next to my DH fav. Papa Johns.
We bought books of collector stamps from our hotel gift shop that are really cool. We also ask if we could by the very nice hard back book about Jiansgu that was in our hotel room. They told us to take it. The hotel cleaning ladies LOVED the flavored teas (Bigelow) I let them as extra tips. Our driver found out through word of mouth I guess I packed lots of tea and he ask me to tip his in tea also. They wanted more of it vs cash?? Who'd thought!
Have a great trip and film everything! Take lots of blank disc and film it all! I even film the bus rides. You will soon forget things plus my older kids LOVE watching and hearing the chinese people talking on the streets.
Blessings for a safe trip!!
